NED Talk Rose Wilhoyt

Rose Wilhoyt
12 PM – 1 PM

Rose is an alumna of Angelo State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in 2019. She spent her undergraduate career volunteering and working for the Angelo State Natural History Collections, which nurtured her love of the collections today. Rose did odd jobs throughout the collections, from working “the bug colony” to data entry to specimen preparations, and even dressing up in costume for outreach events. As a student, she learned from her predecessors Marcia Revelez and Dianna Krejsa, as well as from Drs. Dowler and Dixon during their month-long Natural History courses taught abroad in Europe, where she was able to see examples of some of the world’s most renowned natural collections. Rose began in this position as Collections Manager in January 2024, and she’s happy to share what she has learned thus far, and the importance of collections in general.
