Nature Journaling Workshop

9:00 am — 3:00 pm

Join Sibley Museum Scientist and Naturalist, Michael W. Nickell for a one day workshop on Nature Journaling.  The goal of nature journaling is not to create a portfolio of stunning, finished images for display or publication, but rather to develop the tools of observation to help one to really learn to see, inspire a sense of wonder, and better remember experiences.  One does not already need to be an artist or a naturalist, but these are skills that are developed over time.

Enjoy an indepth workshop lead by Michael, who holds a Master of Arts Degree in in Museum Science (natural sciences illustration specialist) and a Master of Science Degree in Zoology from Texas Tech University.  Michael has also been a professional artist and scientific illustrator for over 30 years.  His free-lance clientele has included National Geographic, Texas Parks and Wildlife, The University of Texas at Austin, The University of Oklahoma, The Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and The Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and his work has been used in numerous scientific publications around the world.

Space is limited! Registration is $30 for members or $40 for non-members, and includes a boxed lunch.
