Join us for the 1st Annual Sibley Nature Festival at Sibley Nature Center to celebrate the nature and history of the Llano Estacado! Enjoy FREE admission for the day. Be sure to purchase lunch from a participating Food Truck!


Dr. Joyce Szabo, Professor of Art History

Dr. Szabo's area of focus is Plains Indian ledger drawing and painting from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Join us at 10 a.m. for an incredible presentation of “Plains Indian Drawings: Past and Present.”

Henry B. Crawford, Reenactor

Henry will be setting up camp at Sibley with an interactive exhibit you won’t want to miss! At 1 p.m. be sure to catch his presentation on buffalo hunting on the Western Frontier in the 1870s.

Kim Lehman, Storyteller

Featured in the Sibley Youth & Family Garden, is storyteller Kim Lehman. Kim will enthrall children with interactive tales and tunes of nature and science. All ages are welcome to join the fun! This portion of the event is supported by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Youth Activities
in the Sibley Youth & Family Garden

Kids of all ages can enjoy the storyteller at 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., 12:30 to 1 p.m., and 1:30 to 2 p.m. Enjoy fun crafts between stories from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest will also be painting faces throughout the day!
