Sibley Youth Family Garden Winter Lecture with Michael Nickell (Class is Full)

Michael Nickell will speak about “Flowers and Plant Families; My program will be about the structure and function of flowers and their use in identifying plant families with an emphasis on those families in the Sibley Garden.  I am the Museum Scientist and Naturalist for Sibley Nature Center.  I have a BA in Biology and two MA Degrees in Museum Science and Zoology.  I have had a side career as a professional artist and scientific illustrator with a clientele that has included National Geographic, Texas Parks and Wildlife, the Royal Society of London, and numerous researchers from many countries.  I also worked for 17 years in vertebrate paleontology, participating in projects in West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Antarctica.  My main interests are insects and other invertebrates, birds, flowering plants, and paleontology. Registration for ages 5-18.  Class is full.
