The Sibley Nature Center in Midland, Texas, is proud to present its dedicated 2026 Board of Directors, who play a crucial role in guiding and supporting the organization’s mission.
Led by President Karmen Bryant, the Board of Directors helps the center maintain its public trail system, enhance educational initiatives, and address community needs.

Karmen Bryant
President
Karmen Hendrix Bryant, a native Midlander, is a community volunteer who has dedicated her life to positive social change through action. Volunteering from an early age, Karmen continues to serve countless nonprofit organizations with enthusiasm and vision in numerous roles. Her true passion not only lies in board governance but also in fund development, having helped raise millions of dollars for local nonprofit organizations. She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas, is the Managing Member of KHB Energy, LLC and President of the Bryant Family Foundation. She is happily married to her husband, Billy.
Ted Morehouse
Secretary
Ted currently lives in Midland with his wife and four kids and works as a geologist for Midway Energy Partners. He received his degrees from the University of Kansas, and before that served in the ARMY. Ted really enjoys spending time outdoors and likes taking his kids for a walk around Sibley's trails.
Bill Terry, CPA
Treasurer
Bill serves as our treasurer for Sibley Nature Center. He has been a CPA for 43 years and is currently the controller for HL Brown Operating LLC in Midland. Bill and his wife, Lynda, have resided in Odessa for 41 years. Bill’s avocation is enjoying wildlife.
Ryan Anwar
Ryan Anwar was born and raised in Midland. He received a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Ryan and his wife, Jennissa currently have two children Lucy and Bode. Ryan is currently Vice President of Operations at Midland Energy and Petroplex Energy.
Matt Etherege
Matt grew up in the Texas Panhandle north of Amarillo in Gruver, Texas. He has a Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science in Ranch Management from the King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management. Following graduation, Matt managed ranches for absentee families around the state in various ecosystems. Matt and his wife, Bethany, and Dachshund, Vienna, have lived in Midland for twelve years and love being in West Texas. Matt currently is a Staff Landman for Endeavor Energy Resources, L.P., a privately held exploration and production company headquartered in Midland. Matt enjoys ranching, tennis, and being outdoors.
Lyndsey White
Lyndsey White is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and has called Midland home since 2012. She serves as the Community Engagement Advisor for Permian Resources. Lyndsey and her husband and son enjoy spending time outdoors at the family ranch in the Trans-Pecos region and golfing. She would recommend backpacking to the top of McKittrick Ridge in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park to anyone who is up for the challenge. Lyndsey serves on the board of the Midland Rainbow Room and is a graduate of Leadership Midland.
Jason Brooks
Jason Brooks is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and native west Texan. He manages the natural resources on over 120,000 acres in the Permian Basin for ConocoPhillips. Jason received his bachelor's degree from Angelo State University and earned a master’s degree from Texas A&M University studying bobwhite quail. Prior to Concho/ConocoPhillips, Jason served as the Executive Director of the Texas Habitat Conservation Foundation, an environmental consultant, and district biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife. He enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, wildlife photography, and spending time with his family.
Chase Gardaphe
Chase Gardaphe is a real estate developer focused on developing and managing manufactured housing communities. He also owns a ski manufacturing company based in Crested Butte, Colorado. Chase is a graduate of the Texas A&M School of Architecture and received his MBA from Southern Methodist University. Chase served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Midland from 2014-2022 and the Midland Development Corporation. He has also served in other appointed positions in our community. He is very passionate about the growth and prosperity of Midland and is very involved throughout the community trying to give back in any way he can. As an avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman, Chase is also very passionate about conservation and nature. Chase, his wife Annabelle, and their two children have called Midland their home since 2012.
Jana Floyd Hoisager
Jana is an attorney at Diamondback Energy, where she focuses on oil and gas law. Jana is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and received her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Southern Methodist University. Jana is actively involved in the community through her professional and volunteer work. She is passionate about supporting local organizations that promote education, conservation, and community engagement—and appreciates opportunities to step away from the fine print and spend time outdoors. Jana and her husband, Chris, both native Midlanders, have two children and are proud to call Midland home. She is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Sibley Nature Center.
